Living small may just be the doorway to everything great.

I’ve got a thing with doors.  I especially love what they represent. New things, opportunity, intrigue, and hope.

Doorways betoken the leaving behind of one thing and the moving into another.

Doorways open up to new opportunities and settings.

Doorways mark a progression forward, moving into something new or different.

Doorways signify hope for the potential of what’s on the other side.

Peer with me through this doorway of living small and see what’s on the other side of humility:

1. Wisdom:  When pride comes, then comes disgrace, but with humility comes wisdom. Proverbs 11:2

Do you need wisdom with relationships or decisions in your life?

Walk through the doorway of humility and live small. When you value God’s truth over your own thinkings, you gain His perspective and wisdom.

2. Honor:  Wisdom’s instruction is to fear the Lord,  and humility comes before honour. Proverbs 15:33

Are you striving to be honored by your work or admired by your friends?

Walk through the doorway of humility and live small. When you seek His glory over than your own, you are honored in His sight and that actually means something to you.

3. Guidance:  He guides the humble in what is right and teaches them his way. Proverbs 25:9

Is confusion clouding your decision-making?

Walk through the doorway of humility and live small. When you let go of your own stubborn way of doing things, you accept His way of doing things and humbly walk along His path.

4. Grace:  He mocks proud mockers but shows favor [grace] to the humble and oppressed. Proverbs 3:34

Do you long to believe that you are accepted unconditionally and totally loved through and through?

Walk through the doorway of humility and live small. When you cease striving for perfection,  you can rest in His grace.

Humility is a beautiful doorway to a hope-filled life. Let’s go there!

  1. Oh Amy….girl, this is some real truth! I am loving your series! Thank you for opening up this topic…I struggle so with plain ole’ selfishness and feeling like there is “more”…(did I say that out loud?). So thank you friend. Keep on bringing His truth, I’ll be reading!

    1. Christy…As I search inside my own heart, I’m finding pride is at the core of everything I struggle with. Ugh. Grateful there is help and hope in the gracious truth of God’s word. Love you, friend!
